Module 1: Initiating & Chairing Disciplinary Hearings (2 Days)
- Understanding the Labour Relations Act (LRA) guidelines for fair discipline
- Dismissal procedures for misconduct, poor performance, and ill-health
- Investigating disciplinary matters and drafting charges
- Preparing notices and collecting evidence
- Presenting a case: opening statements, leading evidence, cross-examination, and closing arguments
- Substantive vs. procedural fairness and the right to representation
- Understanding types of evidence (hearsay, opinion, circumstantial, documents, polygraphs, video/electronic)
- Determining appropriate sanctions and preparing a written finding
Module 2: Emotional Intelligence Works (1 Day)
- Improve relationships in business and social settings
- Manage negative emotions and communicate intelligently
- Increase flexibility, enthusiasm, and teamwork
- Apply “people smart” techniques to prevent personality conflicts and unproductive behaviour
- Build resilience and emotional control in stressful situations
Module 3: The Business of Listening (1 Day)
- Recognise how listening builds either barriers or bridges
- Apply ten steps to manage emotional “hot buttons”
- Improve productivity through active listening
- Extract key details from conversations in fast-paced environments
Module 4: The Minute Taker’s Workshop (1 Day)
- Understand the importance of accurate minute-taking
- Develop critical listening, thinking, and organisational skills
- Overcome common challenges faced by minute-takers
- Produce minutes for formal, semi-formal, and action meetings
- Maintain an effective minute book for organisational records
Module 5: Conflict Resolution – Dealing with Difficult People (1 Day)
- Recognise how attitudes and actions impact others
- Apply techniques to manage and defuse difficult situations
- Use coping strategies for dealing with challenging people
- Identify when it’s best to disengage from unproductive conflict
- Manage anger – both your own and others’
Module 6: Diversity Training – Celebrating Diversity in the Workplace (1 Day)
- Understand diversity and key related concepts
- Identify personal stereotypes and biases
- Recognise politically correct terms and why they matter
- Apply the four cornerstones of diversity
- Avoid common pitfalls in managing diverse teams
- Handle inappropriate behaviour with confidence
- Encourage inclusivity through effective management styles

Module 7: Performance Management (1 Day)
- Use tools to help employees set and achieve meaningful goals
- Apply a three-phase performance model: preparation, activation, evaluation
- Motivate employees with practical techniques
- Develop coaching and feedback skills to unlock peak performance
